Poetry Central runs from Tuesday April 18 – Friday April 21, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Poetry Central is your chance for a lunch-time poetry meet-up. Watch some of Edmonton’s finest Spoken Word poets perform on the park stage. Have a Short-Order Poem written for you on the spot. Pick up festival information or a free poetry book.

  • Pierrette Requier

    Pierrette Requier (French | English), Edmonton’s 6th Poet Laureate, child of la grande prairie canadienne, is a bilingual poet, playwright, performer, producer and mentor.

  • Laurie Mac Fayden

    Laurie MacFayden is a poet and visual artist who has lived in Edmonton since 1984. Her third poetry collection, Walking Through Turquoise, will be released in September 2017 (Frontenac House). Her first two books, Kissing Keeps Us Afloat and White Shirt, won Golden Crown Literary Society awards and White Shirt was also shortlisted for the 2011 Lambda Literary Awards.
