Poetry Moves on Transit Submission Call

Poetry Moves on Transit

Well, the 2017 edition of the Edmonton Poetry Festival went off smashingly. A grand time was had by all, and I think we all grew a little in the process. It’s always a blast, year after year.

But there isn’t much time for rest. We are pleased to announce that submissions are open for the latest round of ‘Poetry Moves on Transit’, our new name for what was called ‘The Poetry Route’, a program that places poetry on Edmonton Transit vehicles throughout the year. You’ll see some new branding for this program, and our other outreach programs.

In this round of Poetry Moves we’re asking for poems about movement! How are you moved by Poetry? Are you a new Edmontonian with a story to tell through poetry? Does poetry take you places? What vehicles move you? Any way you can riff on the theme, we want to receive! Six poems will be chosen from the submissions, and the contest closes May 26th, 2017.

Complete submission guidelines can be found here.

Warm up your writing instruments and get your submissions polished! We look forward to reading about the things that move you.
