Pick up free stuff at Poetry Central

Pick up your copy of the Edmonton Poetry Festival Program at Poetry Central – and your own free copy of the festival poster.

Poetry Central is located at the Stanley A. Milner library on Sir Winston Churchill Square. Besides programs and posters, you’ll find....

  • Poetry on the Hour—This is your big chance at a moment of fame and glory.  Read one of your own poems or a favourite or ask a volunteer to read it for you, out loud, in public.
  • Post a Poem—Don’t keep your creativity to yourself! Let other people enjoy it too by posting it where passersby can read it.
  • Creativity Corner—Write a poem at the desk or play around with words on the magnetic poetry display board. You’ll be amazed how much fun this can be!
  • Vote for Your Favourite Poem—Participate as Edmonton selects, for the first time, the city’s favourite poem.
  • Got a Question?—Get all the information you need to get the most out of Edmonton’s Second Annual Poetry Festival.

As part of making connections with the community, the Poetry Festival has arranged a series of pre-festival poetry workshops with groups of people that might not be able to get physically to the centre – including seniors, patients in long-term care and prisoners. The poems created will be shared at the readings in Poetry Central.
